Utah Tech University golfer earns medalist honors at Utah Women's State Amateur golf tournament
Utah Tech University's very own Jenna Anderson tied for medalist honors at the 118th Utah Women's State Amateur golf tournament at TalonsCove Golf Club in Saratoga Springs, Utah, last month. After playing 18 holes, Anderson and Black Desert athlete Ali Mulhall had the best scores, tying for medalist honors and sharing the top position. The golfers finished with a score of 65, seven strokes under par for the course.

Utah Tech University Student-Athletes attend 2024 NCAA Career in Sports Forum
Last month, two Utah Tech University student athletes attended the 2024 NCAA Career in Sports Forum in Indianapolis, Ind. The forum served to help students succeed in their career fields, especially throughout the transition from student-athlete to life after college. Women's basketball player Emily Isaacson, a current graduate student in sport management, and men's soccer player Traedon Chamberlain, a recent bachelor's degree graduate in recreation & sports management, represented Utah Tech at the forum.

Utah Tech University student Grace Williams competes in Epson Tour's 2024 Copper Rock Championship pro golf tournament
Grace Williams, a student on the Utah Tech University women's golf team, received one of only four sponsor exemptions to compete in the Epson Tour's 2024 Copper Rock Championship golf tournament in May. "It was a great opportunity to be able to play in this tournament," Grace said. "The experience that I gained from this tournament was unmatched, and I will forever be so thankful for that!"

Two Utah Tech University students had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to participate with the CBDNA Western/Northwestern Intercollegiate Band in Las Vegas, Nevada. Twenty-seven Utah Tech University nursing students were inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society Omega Rho Chapter 567. Sigma Theta Tau holds the vision of "connected, empowered nurse leaders transforming global healthcare." Created in 1922, there are over 100,000 members of the honor society in more than 100 countries across the world. Current students in the nursing department can be a part of this society to help with growing professionally as registered nurses and caregivers.

Utah Tech University celebrated the achievements of 14 cadets in its Peace Officer Standards and Training Academy at a graduation ceremony earlier this month. Utah Tech University Women's Wrestling Takes Fourth Place at Nationals
Utah Tech University Women's Wrestling took fourth place at the 2024 National Collegiate Wrestling Championships in Shreveport, Louisiana. The championships took place March 14-16, with the team not only taking fourth place but also bringing home four All-Americans, two National Champions, an Outstanding Female Wrestler of the Tournament, five Academic All-Americans, and the third place Collegiate Cup, which is awarded based on combined men's and women's performance.

"Just like giant puppies" - how Utah Tech University students spent spring break with elephants in Thailand
A group of nine Utah Tech University students had the opportunity of a lifetime over spring break, participating in Utah Tech's Alternative Breaks trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand, and helping out at a local elephant refuge. "I'm really proud in the sense that we all immersed ourselves in the culture, and we just absorbed as much as we could of the culture, the people, and the language," McCue said. "The Thai people were some of the most kind, accommodating and respectful people."

Utah Tech University Student Earns Third Place in National Student Art Competition
One of Utah Tech University's recent graduates as well as one of the first to be accepted and participate in Utah Tech's Master of Fine Arts Program, Brandon Raabe, was recently awarded third place in a national student art competition held by Oil Painters of America. "To me, oil painting gives me a way to practice and develop as a person. I utilize it to become better and to translate the discipline I have with oil painting and apply it elsewhere in my life," Raabe said. "It's a way to grow, and I could spend my time elsewhere, but I choose to oil paint because I believe in it, it's a skill that's very old and special and I hold it very dear to me."

Utah Tech University's Blaze Dance Team Excels With National Second Place Finish
The Utah Tech University Blaze Dance Team, in only its third year of competing, pulled off a stellar second place finish at the 2024 United Spirit Association Dance Nationals held in Anaheim, CA, earlier this month. "Our theme this year was 'Whatever It Takes'," Kori Esplin, coach of the Blaze Dance Team, said. "Then we believed we could, and we did." After half a year of hard work, intense practice, early mornings and late nights, the team was excited to leave it all on the stage and see the final product come to life.

The Utah Tech University Swim Team was awarded the Fall 2023 Scholar All-American Awarded by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America. The team earned a cumulative GPA of 3.78 in the fall semester, putting them at the third highest GPA in Division I along with receving the highest GPA out of any sports team in history at Utah Tech.

Utah Tech University students score big opportunity, join Super Bowl workforce for an unforgettable experience
Utah Tech University students had the opportunity to work at Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas. The 24 recreation and sports management majors were hired by the NFL to assist with pre-game events and 18 of the students participated on the day of the Super Bowl.
